Wonderland – Tamarama Surf Club
The amazing Tracy Rockwell of Tamarama Surf Club orchestrated the first WONDERLAND ARTS FESTIVAL which kicked off with much enthusiasm on Wednesday 6th November – perfectly timed to coincide with the famous Sculptures by the Sea event!
Exhibiting artists were inundated with interested art lovers whose day was made that bit more exhilarating and interesting by taking a look at visual art of all sorts in addition to the strictly sculptural. Once again I was overwhelmed by the interest and fascination of visitors in the idea, techniques and visual outcome of encaustic art. The message of paintings such as NATURE BOUNTY AND BARREN with its focus on drought and the longed for regeneration of land and landscape was even more poignant amidst the fresh incisive smells of salt and seaspray on a perfect Tamarama Day.
It was a highlight for me to meet the other exhibiting artists and hear their stories of creativity, not to mention hard work.
I look forward to hopefully repeating such a fulfilling experience as an exhibiting artist in 2020.
